The Sierra CSI X-Scooter is a video scooter designed specifically to allow the diver to take reasonable quality video, quickly and easily without the normal overhead associated with underwater video.
It is not intended to capture broadcast quality footage, it is intended to get good footage on dives where a conventional video system would be a liability.
The on board camera has extremely low light capability making it usable where other systems would need lighting, if the diver has sufficient light to see, the camera will capture it.
Designed for originally for underwater CSI teams the scooter performs at its best when the conditions are tough. CSI scooters have seen action in a huge range of environments from patrolling anchor damaged reefs in Hawaii, to sewage spills, 180m deep wreck dives, sewage pipe inspections and cold water wreck hunting.
The camera has 360 degree rotation, but no controls, it is powered by the scooter battery and the diver simply connects a recording device such as a digital video recorder (DVR) to the camera, at the start of the dive. The DVR is placed inside the scooter on a special mount, and records everything the camera sees. At the end of the dive the DVR is removed and switched off. The video can then be edited to remove unwanted parts.
Compatible with the rest of the Sierra family, it offers all the same benefits
